 WHAT IS BALANCED TRAINING?

Balanced training utilized both "yes" and "no," while focusing on your dog's mindset. We consider ourselves "balanced" trainers for that reason. Giving your dog the best chance at success means incorporating a variety of things: tools, structure, leadership and consistency. Every dog is different, and we always adapt to a specific dog's needs. During training, we work to find your dog's motivation, and make learning new things very positive and fun.

Creating consequences for unwanted behaviors is the only way to stop them. Avoidance, redirection or positive-only training will never teach a dog what NOT to do. Using rewards and corrections is the most honest and holistic way to train, anything else is limiting your dog’s success and freedom.

WHY DO YOU USE PRONG COLLARS?

Contrary to how they are perceived, prong collars are incredibly safe and effective. Unlike flat buckle collars, prong collars sit high on the neck, avoiding any potential damage to your dog's trachea. With the right fit and technique, prong collars allow clear communication to your dog, which helps us work through fear, stress and anxiety.

With minimal force, we’re able to teach the "pressure on pressure off" method, which encourages your dog's focus in making better choices as they build inner confidence and courage. They are truly amazing tools that help dogs develop a healthier state of mind.

WHY DO YOU USE REMOTE COLLARS?

We specialize in contemporary, low level remote collar training. Our approach is nothing like the old style of "shocking" dogs. We utilize remote collars as another form of communication; conveying information in the most gentle and humane way possible. We teach your dog what the remote collar sensation is, and how to turn it off.

By guiding your dog with this approach, we are able to break through the most intense behaviors. Remote collar training will help proof reliability, trust and a strong relationship between dog and owner.
